Reprint Your Book: Order More Copies of a Published Title
The short answer
If your book is unchanged, ordering more copies is a reprint: no new ISBN, priced on the specification you choose, and printed only after you authorise it in writing. If the text, cover or binding changes, it is a new edition or format with its own ISBN. Price it in the calculator first.

Reprint, new edition or new format?
| What you want | What it is | What to know |
|---|---|---|
| Same book, more copies | A reprint | The text, cover and trim size stay as they are. A reprint with no content change does not need a new ISBN, even with a new price. |
| Corrections, new text or a new cover | A new edition | A revised edition with substantial content changes needs a new ISBN. Send the changed files for checking first; see book formatting. |
| A different binding | A new format | Paperback to hardcover, for example, is a separate edition with its own ISBN. See hardcover book printing and paperback vs hardcover. |
Which printing route fits a reprint?
| Route | Suits | Setup and where to read more |
|---|---|---|
| Print on demand | One copy to a few at a time, as they are ordered | No setup cost and no stock to store. See print-on-demand book printing. |
| Short digital run | From a few copies to a few hundred | Digital printing has no setup cost, so a small run is priced on its own specification. See short-run book printing. |
| Offset run | Large runs | Offset printing pays a setup cost. Printing plates are not reusable, so every offset reprint pays full setup again; the run needs to be large enough to spread it. |
The calculator prices the specification you enter; it is the only source for a price. Compare quantities before you decide.
How a reprint works
1. Decide: reprint or new edition
If nothing in the book changes, it is a reprint. If the text, cover or binding changes, it is a new edition or format, and the ISBN rules above apply. Our ISBN guide explains each case.
2. Get a price on the specification you want
Reprints are priced on their own specifications, not on the original order. Enter trim size, page count, paper, binding and quantity in the book printing cost calculator. If you have an account, you can start from your dashboard instead.
3. Approve before anything is printed
Nothing is reprinted without your written authorisation, and every print run is separately documented. You check and approve a proof before we print; our author charter sets out what happens if printed books do not match the approved proof.
4. Receive your copies
Delivery is quoted with the printing price. If printed copies arrive damaged or defective because of our error, the refund policy explains how to report it.

Frequently asked questions
Can I reprint more copies of my book later?
Yes. Nothing is reprinted without your written authorisation, and every print run is separately documented. Reprints are priced on their own specifications.
Do I pay the setup cost again for a reprint?
It depends on the printing route. Digital printing has no setup cost. Offset printing does, and printing plates are not reusable, so every offset reprint pays full setup again.
Do I need a new ISBN to reprint my book?
Not for a reprint with no content change, even with a new price. A revised edition with substantial content changes needs a new ISBN, and so does a change of format, such as paperback to hardcover.
Can I change the cover or fix typos before reprinting?
Yes, but that makes it a new edition rather than a straight reprint. Send the changed files so they can be checked before a proof is produced. If the changes are substantial, the ISBN rules for a new edition apply.
Will I see a proof before the reprint is printed?
Yes. You check and approve a proof before we print. If the printed books do not match the proof you approved, we reprint them at our cost; errors that were in the approved proof are not covered.
Is there a discount for reordering?
No. Reprints are priced on the specification you choose, at the same rates as any other print order. A smaller quantity or a different printing route can lower the total, and the calculator shows both.
How do I start a reprint?
Price the specification in the book printing cost calculator, then contact us with the book title and the quantity. If you already have an account, you can start a print order from your dashboard.
