About the book

From a small village, Grace found me.

He was an orphan in a countryside village in Nigeria, in a place where the road ended and expectations ended with it. There was no obvious path from there to anywhere. What he found instead was hope inside a church, purpose inside service, and a family inside a community of faith — and then, improbably, a call that carried him to a seminary, to Rome, to ordination, and finally to a parish on a busy London street thousands of miles from where he began.

The Journey of Grace is Fr. Emmanuel Ameh Abah's own account of that road. It is a memoir of vocation written without polish or distance: the poverty, the loss, the seminary years at Ikot Ekpene and Bigard Memorial Enugu, the studies at the Pontifical Urban University, the ordination on the 12th of August 2016, and the mission overseas that followed. It is also an honest look at what it costs to say yes, and at the long stretches where nothing about the call felt certain.
